Starboard Phantom Race 380 Windsurfing Board 2010
The all new 2009 Phantom Race 380 comes on the heels of 2007 World Champion Phantom Race. Designed by
Mariano Reuteman, Remi Vila and Svein Rasmussen, the new 2009 Phantom Race 380 is built with a brand new shape built in an all new construction.
New Shape
The nose rocker has been lowered and this, combined with extra “V” at the nose allows the board to glide faster in light winds for improved performance in soft conditions. Lowering the nose rocker also gives the board greater speed in mid to high winds as the board crosses choppy wated at a more efficient angle of attack. The end result - faster in light winds, faster in high winds.
The deck shape features heel extensions , increasing the rider’s leverage over the dagger board and fin. More leverage = more power and a better angle upwind.
New Construction
The new 2009 Phantom Race 380 is full PVC sandwich and unidirectional 80g carbon from deck and bottom in.
Flat-weaved and unidirectional, the UD80 carbon fiber is the most efficient fiber available for windsurf board construction, among the lightest weighing in at 80g per square meter and provides great stiffness.
An oversized side-plate (new on the 2009 Phantom Race 380) holds the 78cm dagger board, distributing the load evenly and ensuring total reliability, durability and usability.
