Like High Performance Sports Cars, these babies are lowered and wide with an extra low center of gravity. Thinner and wider is more controllable than narrower and thicker. Like putting low profile tires on a sports car, you get less body roll and a more direct feel.

They don’t bounce like other wide shapes. In fact, with its lowered centre of gravity, the Futura rider experiences a razor-sharp riding sensation with impeccable control. They carve instantly and incisively, plane up early and effortlessly in light winds and offer more control and comfort in high winds.

By making a wide board with such impeccable cornering and comfort, Starboard was able to harness the great advantages or going wide. Early planning and fantastic feel and drive from the fin upwind, enables more fun riding the swells downwind. It also means one board is really fun in a much wider wind and sail range than ever before. It also enables you to use a lower volume board than you are used to.
