JP Wave Windsurfing Board 2010

JP Wave Windsurfing Board 10

WAVE

Replacing the ever popular Real World Waves, the all new Wave line provides an alternative to the traditionally narrow down the line boards designed for unfavorable conditions. One of our goals is to delivered quality boards for all conditions - from direct rail to rail wave riding without compromising the need for low end and onshore performance.

SHAPE
Wider and with a rounder nose, the Wave is easier to position at the bottom of a turn and hold it in sloppy chop. The Wave still carries all the speed and drive back up towards the lip and provides serious power in the top turn, even in soft waves. A faster cutback is supported as a result of the extra surface area which pushes the board off the lip.

Dramatic acceleration allows the rider to stay close to the critical “power” section of the wave. This is achieved through a slightly reduced rocker, meaning there is no need to head downwind to maintain speed in onshore conditions.

The Wave has a reduced tail width which, despite the reduced rocker, offers great wave riding capabilities. Carve and smack the board around and still stay close to the critical section of the wave. This means more turns on every wave and more fun on every ride!

For a more comfortable ride in chop and extra control on bottom turns we introduced a double concave bottom shape pushing the wider Wave line to a new level of comfort and control.

A slightly wider stance allows a rider to vary their sailing style from either front or back foot as needed.  This all adds up to more easily changing the turning radius and maintaining speed.

Phil Horrocks, World Cupper and Werner Gniglers test partner, calls the Wave seriesv his favorite boards for onshore conditions.

SUMMARY
The Wave is the complete package. Delivering good performance in all conditions, particularly in less than ideal onshore conditions, is one reason why the “Wave is a must have” in every team rider’s difficult conditions quiver. The wave is simply JP’s best on shore board.
